Happy Monday! Although our morning wasn’t so happy when both babies woke up at 5:30 and wanted to start the day! It’s only 8:30 and I’m ready to crash. I can’t believe that I used to get up by 5 to shower and get ready for work. I used to workout sometimes before work too! I know I will have a lot more energy when Ella starts sleeping through the night, but for now, more coffee!
Here’s what’s going on here today:
1. Ella is 5 Months Old Today!
Click here to find out more about our big 5 month old! I can’t believe it has almost been half a year since she was born. Time definitely flies when you have babies!
2. The Odyssey Online
I have another article published in The Odyssey Online this week. Here it is! This is such a great site that features articles of all genres from thousands of viewpoints across the country. I am so honored to be a part of the Moms group on this site. This week, I wrote a letter to James that he will hopefully read someday. It includes quotes from some of our favorite children’s books. Hopefully you guys will be able to relate. As a mom, there is something so special and meaningful about experiencing your first baby, and this sort of outlines my hopes and dreams for him. <3
On to the yummy treats! At first, I had plans of making healthy snacks for the big game yesterday, but then Chris kind of convinced me that Superbowl only comes around once a year, and we should celebrate using our favorite recipes, even though they aren’t too healthy! Life is about balance, and it seriously felt good to sit on the couch and eat yummy carbs all night, I have to be honest.
One recipe that I tried for the first time is this Jalapeno Artichoke Dip. It was absolutely delicious! And SO easy!
I already added it to my recipe book for future parties :).
We also enjoyed some good old-fashioned bread roll, or garbage bread as some call it. We made a traditional Italian one, with salami, pepperoni, ham, parmesan and mozzarella cheese, and a buffalo chicken one, with shredded chicken, buffalo wing sauce, blue cheese, and some mozzarella cheese.
For dessert, I made cookies. We usually have friends over for Superbowl, but this year we laid low and just hung out with the kiddos. It was actually nice to have a quiet day, just the four of us.
Have a wonderful Monday!
