Happy Friday! We’re having a great day over here, and ya know why?! It’s because I got an awesome workout in this morning and I feel amazing!

It’s so true that you can’t be a great mommy to your kids if you aren’t being good to yourself. I definitely have a better day overall if I have a good workout.

I’ve discovered a lot about myself and fitness lately, and I’ve realized that it’s a lot like motherhood – a rollercoaster ride.

TGIF! This week flew by, thank goodness! We have a fun-filled weekend coming up – my mom is moving out tomorrow, which is a little bittersweet. We are SO happy for her and her new adventure in her home, but will all miss having her here a lot, especially James. We’re going to help her move tomorrow, and then Sunday is Superbowl! I love Superbowl, not because of the game 😉 but because we get to eat yummy food! We have a few recipes we are going to try out, and I’ll post those Sunday!  For today, here are some tips of mine to getting in your workout and keeping your kids active, even in these chilly days of winter!

7 Steps to Working Out as a Stay-at-Home Mom

As most stay-at-home moms know, we don’t get a lot of alone time, if any. I’m lucky if I get to sneak in a shower at night after the kids are in bed, and still I’m worried that I’m going to wake them up! Once you get past the pure exhaustion of the newborn months and realize that your tummy is not going to tighten itself, you may be interested in starting a workout regimen.

As a mom of a 4 month old and 17 month old, I am exhausted in the morning, and exhausted in the evening when the kids are asleep. These would be ideal times to exercise to some, but let’s be honest; it’s not happening. Now that my babies have somewhat synchronized nap times in the afternoon, I’ve started to try to get a workout in during that time… if I’m lucky.
